TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The Technical Services Department is charged with the responsibility of providing engineering services to the Crop Groups and other departments of the Corporation. The seat of the Department is at Tiko with an annex at Bota. The department is headed by a Director Technical Services and an Assistant located at the Bota sector.


SOME OF TSD HEAVY DUTY FLEET

It is made up of the following engineering units, each of which is headed by a Service Manager:

Civil / Water Works Services responsible for the construction and maintenance of buildings, roads and bridges. Production of office furniture. Construction and maintenance of water intakes, treatment stations and management of water distribution networks.

Electrical and Electronics Services
It is responsible for area electrification and maintenance of electrical networks and electronic components. Management the CDC communication lines and base stations. Monitoring electrical and telephone consumption.

The EES is also responsible for the maintenance and servicing of Weighbridges also ensuring that Weighment Units are duly certified by the Ministry of Finance and Industrial Development. They co-ordinate and oversee the filling of Fire Extinguisher canisters by the Contractor and ensure maximum protection from electrical accidents in all areas of operation.

Mechanical Engineering Workshops
It is responsible for all mechanical works. Fabrication of farm tools and maintenance of engineering components. Maintenance and repairs of machines.

Plant Maintenance Service responsible for repairs, maintenance and routine servicing of the Corporation’s thirty seven Generator sets and fifty water pumps.

The activity of the TSD is very immense and influential to the operations of CDC with total annual engagements averaging over 1.5 billion FCFA. Some services are rendered to and provided by third party.
